Teaching and Facilitation

I teach and facilitate multiple theatre practices at some of the UK's leading drama schools. I began working on the Acting Part Time course at Rose Bruford in January 2021 and went on to become a permanent member of staff, directing Mighty Atoms in the Barn Theatre in July 2021. Working with students aged 21-60, I went on to direct professional showcases and lead assessments at Rose Bruford, and have recently began facilitating movement and seeking character through Laban workshops at the school.

In December 2021, I began working with the Foundation Musical Theatre students at Mountview on their approach to monologues for the purpose of drama school auditions, and have a high success rate of students achieving places on BA drama school courses.

Recently, I have lead workshops in storytelling and folklore for youth group City Lions on behalf of Iris Theatre, co-facilitated physical theatre, devising and ensemble workshops with Spies Like Us, lead an online Monologue 101 workshops for National Theatre Connections and lead Play in a Day workshops with Bigfoot Education South East. I am currently working on audition technique and contemporary monologues with the Part Time Acting students at Mountview.

"My time at Rose Bruford with Evangeline was such an eye opening experience because I got to work, or rather in Evangeline’s terms, ‘play’ with classical text which I always found so daunting. She made me understand that beyond the seemingly complicated text, these are just people trying to communicate with each other and once that was understood, you get to actually play within the margins of the character and finally harness the infamously intricate text as just tools for that character’s objective. And the best part about all of this is you only become aware of all the hard work you’ve put in after the fact. Because during the process, you’re having the time of your life!”

"Evangeline taught me on Rose Bruford's Acting Part Time course. She helped us prepare poems and an extract from a novel to present at our end of term showing. This included helping us with breath and vocal technique, as well as storytelling and portraying distinct and different characters through physicality. I learned so much from being taught by Evangeline. Her expertise is second to none, and she is one of the most insightful directors I've ever had. Her notes were always illuminating, very perceptive, and not ideas I would have come up with on my own. I made a lot of progress with her, and learned lessons I am still applying to my acting today. But the best thing - not only is Evangeline knowledgeable, she is also kind. She led a supportive rehearsal space where I felt safe to make bold choices, try new things, and also to say when I didn't understand something. Evangeline brings out the best in everyone, and anyone would be lucky to be taught by her."

Sadie Fitzgerald

Foundation Musical Theatre Student | Mountview

“Evangeline has been an absolutely fantastic teacher to work with for the past few weeks on my contemporary monologues; the difference I’ve noticed between when I first began working on them to now is huge, and Evangeline’s different approaches and exercises have helped me incredible amounts. She created such a safe and creative space to work in, I can take all these techniques with me throughout my whole time at drama school, I can’t thank her enough!”

"Working with Evangeline is such a pleasure. As a director, she is incredibly supportive and pushes us to reach our potential. She has helped me to develop my confidence in performing and given me so many tips and techniques to develop the characters I'm working on. If you get the chance to, I would absolutely recommend working with Evangeline - I feel privileged to have the opportunity to"

"Evangeline is a ball of positive energy. She knows exactly how to motivate her students to get the best out of them. I have personally found she created a safe and creative environment throughout our work on Yerma and Mighty Atoms. I'm extremely grateful for the guidance in character development and technique she has given me throughout these projects"

"Evangeline is a fantastic teacher and director. She is engaged from the get go, prepared, thoughtful, creative and has led our class with positivity and enthusiasm. She's also wonderfully collaborative and ensures everyone has the space to contribute. Any drama student would be lucky to have her"
